Community engagement

BHPS Community EngagementFaculty and staff provide psychotherapeutic consultation and collaborative care with patients and medical colleagues in rural communities. These services are offered via the Center for Rural Mental Health Studies’ telemental health network housed in the department.

Faculty provide co-leadership and collaborate with tribal communities through the Research for Indigenous Community Health Center (RICH), a center for community based participatory research with tribal communities.

Faculty provide evaluation research and teach in numerous programs of the Center of American Indian and Minority Health to raise the health status of American Indians and Alaska Natives by recruiting and educating Native American medical students, increasing awareness of American Indian health care issues and conducting research that serves the health interests of Native American communities.
